I thought I'd throw it out there and see if there are any other crafty members who have built their own wall displays,or have found diy instructions online somewhere. I love the look of the plexiglass ones for sale, but don't love the price tag.

This one doesn't look too hard to fab up be0d_1.jpg

Below is a link to a instagram video of mason's cars room we did for his birthday! Give us some feedback on what cases you think would look awesome in there.

Mason's room looks like a dream, one lucky little guy. Fantastic work, kudos.
I like the Carney mirrored back display cases, if you take a look at carslover's display cases, you know why. But i need at least 6 of the 100er cases to display my collection, so that would burst my budget for sure, lol.

I have currently have 4 Carney Plastics units (3 CP-21/24 and 1 SA-100)... I chose the clear back instead of the mirrored back cases that carslover has.

I also have 4 other smaller display cases that hold between 42 and 49 singles (depends on the size of them).

I need more display cases as well as more wall space for them and my posters... I think I have a few photos of mine in various threads but need to take more.

The Carney units are not cheap - and you're right, keonisdad - having them shipped outside of the US to you would definitely burst your budget.

We currently only have one display case for the haulers.

We want to give the next one to our son for Deluxe cars on xmas. The one on the pic has the measures of the Carney ones, but as shipping is way too high and too many risks it gets broken we found a retailer here who makes them when we give him the measures. Not cheap either, but well. For the moment we have all the other cars in shelves, but they are full, so the next display case has to come soon.

I really like this one, it looks like the carney display from what I could tell.

I was thinking of running a picture frame ledge around the room at about a foot off the ground and painting a road on the top of it. That way mason could play with it and we could also display cars around the entire room

the carney 100er are $150 delivered in the US, so to go to Germany would be at least $200 each
that's a lot of cars you could buy for $1200
but i'm one to talk , my 8 wall displays and one floor unit cost me $3500

Wow that's impressive. For the home built ones, did you modify an existing cabinet or from scratch?

they are from scratch and were a lot more work than I thought they would be
originally they were only 30 compartments, but as I ran out of space very quickly
I added inserts from the leftover materials I had

Andy: that's a simple effective way, I may steal your idea

Here's the shelf we painted with disney paint. It's a fight every time we change mason that he wants to play with the cars. It only holds a few though. :-(

I first saw this setup at Coolpappa04 pictures or at least some sort of this setup.
Nice to hear others can benefit from these ideas
Grts I'll post some other pics tomorrow

so here is the rest of our stuff which is already displayed in any way. Have much left which we still did not display cause of a lack of space.
