The fact that planes are not really flying off the shelves when it is new, does not speak well for the longevity. However, from a collector standpoint it could be great for those collecting. Collecting for an investment (not that most of us are, but still...) is all about collecting either what others are not, or when others are not. Being first is generally best. The awesome thing about toys is that most of them get opened to play with. So if you collect first, keep them packaged, and they are still popular in a decade, you should be in great shape.

For those collecting just to have all the characters and open them and play with them with our kids/grandkids, the slow sales are bad, because the chances of incomplete release looms.
