NN, where did you happen upon these? Was it Smyth's again?

    • Yes, I got mine from Smyths in the London area. If you're buying all 17, it's worth asking for the case too! They nearly always oblige!

My local Tesco have labels over the Cars Single Diecast saying that they are out of stock and will be available from 04/03/2013 (Monday). As Tesco are very good at replenishing stocks (when in stock in their warehouse; they've not had any singles for a couple of weeks), that can only mean that they are getting these too?

Smyths along with Tesco and Argos, then ASDA were the only places to get the 'limited edition' silver racers, so it's probably a safe bet they'll all stock them. I'm sure that Sainsbury will too, the more stores the merrier, the quicker they'll sell and then we'll move to the next case and even MORE cars!

If anyone from Mattel UK is reading this, and we know they do, PLEASE don't sell us down the river this time and PLEASE try and get the WHOLE series out this time! That was a pretty lousy thing to do, not releasing five cars from Cars 2 in the UK. You've done that a few times in the past, so maybe you can redeem yourselves this time? THANKS in anticipation!

My Tesco is saying the 3/3/13 so they must be out soon, hope its something different than whats at Smyths. Im pleased that I helped Nigel out to where they had the new cars, they only had 4 cases that I presume are now gone as I had a case and Nigel had a case.
My Disney store dont get another delivery until Monday night so if these cars were going to be out this weekend it aint gonna be this one. All we need now are the 2 packs and the new deluxe. And please mattel make the proper trucks in the nice boxes as before so you can finish the previous line, we like the new packaging too. theres 1000's of collectors and kids who will buy them but these plastic trucks I will not buy

            • of the stock I found the only items left are king, luigi and guido, and ramone, and the only reason they are there is because the clip stip is situated on the wall beside stationary/party items
some of this 2013 range reminds me of British Leyland badge engineering from the 70/80s!

They would have been better off leaving it with just Uncle Topolino in there, that's embarrassing!

                    • If we are a bit annoyed with Mattel for taking so long to get these new cars out in the UK, we probably have to give them some credit too? Strange, Mattel UK and credit on the same sentence! It doesn't happen that often!

Of the first six cases announced in the US (and their corresponding UK/European cases), the W1938-997R case has the most cars in it, 17 different ones, of which nine are issued on the 2013 card design for the first time.

US Y0471-999A (UK/Europe W1938-997N) - 13 different cars (nine not in W1938-997R, only three cars not repeated in the first six US cases - Suki, J. Curby Gremlin and Hank 'Halloween' Murply) ~ Not released in UK/Europe so far.

US Y0471-999B (UK/Europe W1938-997P) - 16 different cars (14 for the first time on a 2013 card; 11 not in W1938-997R) ~ Not released in the UK so far, but supposedly going to Disney Store UK exclusively?

US Y0471-999C (UK/Europe W1938-997Q) - 11 different cars (eight for the first time on a 2013 card; none of them in W1938-997R) ~ Not released in the UK/Europe so far, but supposedly going to Disney Store UK exclusively?

US Y0471-999D (UK/Europe W1938-997R) - 17 different cars (nine for the first time on a 2013 card) ~ Released simultaneously in the US (online) and in UK/Europe at the end of February 2013. A great start for the UK.

                      US Y0471-999E (Not announced?).

                      US Y0471-999F (UK/Europe W1938-997S?) - 19 different cars (nine for the first time on a 2013 card) ~ US release approx 8 April 2013.

                      US Y0471-999G (UK/Europe W1938-997T?) - 11 different cars (five for the first time on a 2013 card) ~ US release approx 20 May 2013.

There are 101 cars / packs touted for mainline release so far (104 if you consider Uncle Topolinos band as four singles - unlikely - most likely a four car Movie Moment?).

There are 14 Movie Moments and eight Deluxe, leaving 79 standard singles releases. By the time US case 999G is released (probably in late May), 58 of the 79 standard singles will have been released.

Out of these case released the UK have one so far! Thanks Mattel.

I think there is 1 other case in circulation as Boogity found a clip strip case which had Petey Pacer in it and that's not in the cases at Smyth's.

Hopefully all this will change of the next 4 weeks as we see overdue new cases coming through. I suppose 2 new cases is a start...

I think there is 1 other case in circulation as Boogity found a clip strip case which had Petey Pacer in it and that's not in the cases at Smyth's.

Hopefully all this will change of the next 4 weeks as we see overdue new cases coming through. I suppose 2 new cases is a start...
I don't like the plastic 'clipstrip' singles. I wish they didn't do them as it effectively means we are doubling up on what's (usually) already available, taking sales away from standard singles and lessening the possibility of Mattel getting all the standard singles released.

If the clipstrip variety were a totally different series, say lenticular, then I think that's a different matter. They do sell, not least because they are prominently placed compared to standard singles, which are usually stuffed away on a shelf somewhere!

I do hope we're not going to get some as 'J' cut cards and some as clipstrips!
