Is there no limit to Mattel UK's incompetence?

If they have lots of stocks for the launch of Planes and the first waves of Deluxe and Moments are ready for distribution that must mean that the next waves of Cars 2013 singles are also in the warehouse?

Given that four cases (997R, 997Q, 997U and 997P) were released within about a month, that could mean that the next four cases 997V, 997W, 997S/T and 997Y are in the warehouse together?

Until we actually see them, they are just assumed case numbers.

its a pity they can't recall all those peg warmers as quick...Mattel... full of blue collar workers, should let the immigrants have a go. They couldn't do any worse put it that way....

Its also a pity that this ridiculous company have stocked up all my stores over here with junk that will never sell... So maybe those new Deluxe and two packs will hit home bargains instead... that could be the silver lining, you think?

DISNEY PLANES LAUNCHED IN THE UK - Then recalled just as quick!

A local toystore group near me received about ten cases of Disney Planes today in error! They are not officially supposed to launch until Monday 10th June in the UK.

The error was spotted when the toystore HQ contacted Mattel UK to find out what the RRP was!

    Mattel promptly recalled all stock!

It is believed that Planes were sent out instead of the first wave of Cars 2013 Deluxe and Movie Moments. I'll have to wait for next week's delivery to find out!

Yep, Rip came home with me! All has gone quiet at retail since the manic last few weeks...

Interesting development...was browsing DS website earlier and noticed a massive increase in number of diecasts listed. Hoping for a new wave of two-pack goodies, I was left disappointed but very interesting to note they are now listing some 2013/2012 repeat singles to buy online. Never ever seen these online before, only the odd peg warmer or silver racer in 1:55.

*EDIT* just a couple of hours later, they're all now listed as Sold Out.

The next two standard singles cases in the UK are thought to be 997V and 997W. These are the equivalents of the US G and H cases. They are in stock at Mattel, but we'll only know exactly what letter they are when they reach the shops.

The current 997P was originally thought to be going go to Disney Stores, but as they haven't been ready to accept new stock until now, Mattel have sent these to other retailers who wanted them. I guess that they have been sitting at the back of Mattel's warehouse waiting for the call from Disney Stores? As there are only 50 odd Disney Stores that means that they will be more limited in numbers than other cases!

Don't worry if you miss out on a Rip from this case, as he's due a repeat in case 997W. If that case goes to all retailers, then there will be lots more available. NONE of the cars, including Rip are Chase cars, so they'll all be repeated in later cases. There will be 12 singles cases in all. Only five have been released so far, including a very limited run of 997N (US A) in Europe.

Disney Store Oxford Street finally had the 2013 silver racers this week. Hopefully that's in preparation for Disney Stores to join the 2013 party and sell the full range? Sadly, one of my nearest ones (Croydon) has now closed down.

There have also been some pictures (on the internet) of an internationally card silver Rip Clutchgoneski. Although nothing has been confirmed as yet, it has been suggested that the full set of 11 silver racers would be released through Kmart in the US, so how would Mattel get a silver Rip to the UK and European markets?

He's not shown on the COLLECTORS POSTER 2013. That doesn't mean he's not coming out in the UK, but as the poster is very new, I guess it could've been an oversight?

As in the US, there are two 'twin' cases, thought to be 997S and 997T. It could well turn out that instead of getting a Super Chase into the UK and Europe (in case 997T), that's where a silver Rip gets his release into the wild? That's pure guesswork on my behalf.

If anyone wants the COLLECTORS POSTER 2013, you can either ring Mattel UK on 01628 500303 or e-mail them at helplineuk(at)mattel.com.

Don't forget to substitute the (at) for a @. The @ was substituted for security reasons.

TRU had a sale on Queen, Kimuro and FC Mater at a fiver each, Smyths have even less of a selection of the ones in Cardiff and Swansea which surprised me and i drew a blank everywhere else in regard to new cars.

Disney store had about 5 1:55 Maters. The lass i spoke to about the newer stock etc told me almost embarrased, that they hadnt had any for ages, just mater. I did almost crack and pick up a DJ & Wingo 1:48 size but the wee man wasnt keen so we left them. They did also have the large size Topper Deckington, Chauncey Fares and Sgt. Highgear and they were reduced to 6 quid a pop. They also had Long Ge and Fabrizio in large too, should anyone be looking for them.

After the brief disappointment we did have a cracker of a day at the Noahs Ark Zoo and would thoroughly recommend it to anyone with kids. Rounded off with a meal with the cash we had put aside for Cars so all in all a good day.

Vandance, should you stumble across Rip again, feel free to nab him for me (if Disney had him in 1:48, was gonna get him just to pacify the monster lol) and I will happily cover the cost plus cost to post etc.

    Cheers guys n gals

Since they have reduced the cars to £3 there have been no new deliveries. If you need Francesco you will be pleased! TRU have a promotion on so that may be your best bet. Tesco has clip strips of just Finn LMQ and mater. Smyths are full of Silver Series but I have not been in there for a week! There is always the Disney store...! Have a great day and wish you luck!

i think i must have timed my visit to cribbs' morrisons perfectly to find everything apart from kabuto on tuesday

up in london today to register for the marathon and had a look around afterwards

westfield disney store didn't have any 2013 stock but did have a surprisingly good selection of 2012 cards including galloping geargrinder, kabuto, erik laneley and alex vandel

hamleys did have some 2013 stock - a case c (for the bargain price of £8 each) which one of their overly enthusiastic members of staff was saying had only just been put out

    er, that was it ...

I am off to Cribbs tomorrow, any advice on anywhere to hit early? I read someone said Morrisons but any locals with some tips for me? Would make mine an my wee mans day to grab some new cars, especially Rip
