Thankfully I don't collect Disney Store Cars else I'd be chasing these 12...

But then again, having new stuff in stores will be nice...

Thanks for the heads up madbob

We may finally know the story behind the country Cars... it makes sense... we'll know soon.

Thanks for the heads up, madbob!

Nice find Madbob! I too am glad I have stayed away from the DS line. I just can't get past the size and general differences with the Mattel line that I love. I do have a few DS items, such as Frank, Crabby, and Siddley... but I think I will continue to stay away even with these. There is also a picture out the of the Disney Store's Private Eye Mater set (where the cars are actually black & white), that I could only dream of Mattel releasing! It has PI Mater, Lieutenant McQueen, and Big D, pretty cool looking.

I keep holding out hope for the Mattel line.......

            thanks for the heads up!
The Disney store cars are much larger; the ones already released and that many of us have are the same size as the Mattel cars.
I heard from a backdoor seller they had been told these were super chase cars. I wonder if Mattel will do a super chase promo using the Disney Store model?

Just speaking to the member of staff I know in my local DS and have found out that these cars are only planned to be released at certain DS stores throughout the county.

My local DS is a flagship store so not sure what the criteria is. I hope they'll be available online. The main question is, what scale are they? The word I've heard is that they're Mattel cars and 1:55 scale (but that's not confirmed) so who knows...

If they are 1:55 scale cars, I would love to pick these up.

i do hope as well these are indeed 1.55,to which i think i will have to revert to the dark side of the schwartz if they are
our store in swansea is'nt a flagship store but the one in cardiff is and i'm working there next week

can't see the bath store being counted as flagship but i'll be in cardiff on august 1 so if they don't all get snapped up on the 30th and 31st i might be in with a chance

                          Yep, no York on there

Meadowhall or Metro Centre is a little far to go once per week to get one new car

I hope these are available online (if they're 1:55)

I've e-mailed Disney regarding this line and the store exclusivity, explaining my predicament or having to spend £48 (worked out at 40p per mile on a 120 mile round trip to my nearest participating store - I get paid 40p per mile at work to cover petrol 7 wear & tear) + the cost of each car each week for 12 weeks to collect the lot in the hope that the car would be in stock, dispite having a Disney Store in the City I live.

I also enquired about online ordering of the cars and the possibility of a "free" delivery to local store option.

I did try to tug at their heart strings when I asked what I should tell my son as a reason why he can't have these cars...

Disney is usually such a customer (or Guest as they call it) focused company so this strategy has taken me somewhat by surprise.

The response I received (within a few hours) is below:

                              Dear Guest

                              Thank you for your email.

I am pleased to confirm that Disney Pixar Cars World Grand prix will be available online and in the stores listed below

                              676 – Westfield Strafford
                              749 – Aberdeen
                              753 – Bluewater
                              754 – Reading
                              757 – Trafford
                              790 – Liverpool
                              794 – Birmingham
                              802 – Meadowhall
                              803 – Lakeside
                              804 – Glasgow
                              805 – Bromley
                              829 – Metro Centre
                              932 – Cardiff
                              960 – Westfield London
                              964 – Oxford Street
                              970 – Kingston
                              967 – Dublin

At the moment it has not been confirmed whether there will be a discounted delivery charge if the cars are purchased online however, if there is any promotion relating to the sale of these items it will be advertised online.

All your comments have been passed onto our toy department which will be looked into and considered. We appreciate all feedback from our Guests and again would like to thank you for taking the time to send us an email.

Should you require any further assistance in the future please do not hesitate to contact us.

                              Kindest Regards

                              Samantha.

To be honest I'm happy with the response (the way it's phrased - it actually looks like they've read my e-mail) and the response timescales, although it doesn't change my opinion on their distribution strategy.

If I hear more I'll let you know.
