  • Recalled Sarge

Is there any value to one of these carded to collectors? The store I went to had one, but is asking a good amount for it.
Check out my trades list, it's always up to date : http://www.pixarcarsdiecast.com/foru...st-take-a-peek!

I would think so. I'm not sure how much though. Although, I did a quick search on Amazon for Supercharged Sarge and there is one for $2.40 plus $5 shipping. I would think he's worth a lot more than that.

I've seen supercharged Sarge sell quite cheap on ebay. I think the Sarge in the Supercharged 2pk with Fillmore was also a lead paint Sarge.
At the time of the recall his price went up but now it is possible to pick him up cheaper if you keep a lookout on ebay/amazon.

Technically illegal to re-sell a recalled Sarge. (In the US anyway...)

Summary : it was painted with paint that contained lead. Not so safe for little Timmy to stick in his mouth.

Wow - that's not so good - any tell tale signs if you have one of these - it makes me a little concerned as my Son has a couple of Sarges and they were bought loose - so I don't know if they are supercharged or not - Bens not in the general habit of putting them in his mouth but knowing his/our luck out of the 400 or so cars that would be the one he would pick lol.

i went through a spell of worrying about whether the handful of backdoor cars i bought of ebay might suffer from the same issue

I have a lead paint Sarge or two from way back still in the blister. So, I had a quick look on the Mattel U.K customer services web site and they suggested I fill out an on-line form and Mattel will send out a return address label along with a list of replacements Mattel are offering for Sarge. Cool, a trade oppertunity! I might just contact Mattel, just to see what they offer as a replacement. If it's a Porta carded Finn or LMQ I think I'll keep my potentially deadly Sarge thanks! ha ha!

Wow, I just bought a few and didn't even think of that! Great, I wonder if there's any way to tell. Maybe a test kit of some sort

I had a lead tester already and tested mine, a few turned up not good for kids.
Sarge was hard to find before the recall as they didn't pack too many of them into each box going to the stores. Afterward you couldn't find a Sarge anywhere. It figures as that was the only character I collected.
It still blows me away to talk into a store and see any Sarge on the rack, as you just never saw that for so long...
