  • Frank The Combine: Was it a good score?

Okay, I'm feel happy & psyched and feel kind of stupid at the same time.. I just spent all the money I have for a loose, not played with, excellent condition, Frank the Combine from eBay for $46.94 just minutes ago. The seller provided these pictures:

I had to act fast 'cause the seller just listed the item and I do really want a Frank one because I love Frank! And second is that it's worth a lot so I felt that I wouldn't be able to find another good deal.

I feel happy 'cause hey, I finally have a Frank! But also feel bad at the same time 'cause I don't have any more money! Lol. Well, I do, but it's on hold by Paypal and they won't be release 'til around last week of Decemeber to first week of January. So all my available balance on Paypal's gone! I was kind of reserving it in case I see a good Cars lot on eBay or somewhere else. But hey, I have a feeling this is a good deal too since when I finally get to save up again, I'm already 1 down of the expensive rare cars.

I just hope that when the car gets to me, it really is in excellent condition.

Do you think it was a good score?

The price seems about right for an opened Frank.

I've found 2 Franks at a CVS store in the past few weeks and I opened one of them 2 nights ago.
That about gave me sweats! It was like ripping up a 50 dollar bill.

I feel ya, TopherDawg. I have some Cars in package that I'd like to free, but can't bring myself to do it. Bobbie, Frank is an essential addition to any Cars collection, so in that way it was a good score. Pricewise, you got it for about the going rate, more or less. Congrats on your scores, both of you.

Wow! You're lucky! Lol. Yeah, if I find a Frank on a store, I'd probably buy 5 or more of those just so I won't feel bad about opening one of them! Haha.

Yeah, I really think it's a good score. I'm glad I got it for the going rate though I think I got it for a little cheaper. 'Cause I search for Franks everyday on eBay and that's the cheapest Buy It Now Frank that I saw so far. So I just decided to go for it so I can get it over with and move on with other rares like Bessie and such.

          Thanks sodabear!

I'm a new collector too, so I know how it is to strategize on who to get next.

I'm hoping prices drop a bit after the holidays. I'm going for the Impounds and finishing out my haulers next.

I want to finish my haulers too but they're really pricey. Right now, I'd like to finish my metallic cars. Of course, that doesn't include those $100+ cars. I don't think I'd spend that much for just one car. Even though I really want them Bluray, Motorama, Chrome, etc. McQueens! Lol.

I think it was a good score. Loose too, so you can go ahead a play with it right away and not feel bad about opening it. Last time I saw a Frank in a store was summer of 2010. I had just bought the Disney Store version and when I saw the Mattel version, I left it there. Big mistake, I have never seen it again. Still have lots of fun with the big Disney Store version though. Welcome to the site!

Thank you, bobbyjack! I came from CTT. I'm kind of new there too. I just found this site when I searched for something Cars-related and saw a link to this Forum.

I think it was a good score too. I think there's a lot of people out there who would've jumped on it the minute they saw the listing. And you're right about not feeling bad about opening it if it was NIP. But I still want a NIP one. 'Cause I want a collection where there'll be 2 of each cars, one that I can open and display and one that I can keep in its packaging. I want a big Disney Store version too! Just waiting for another good score like this. Hope there'll be one.

Cars are worth what you want to pay Bobbie, same as most things in life

If you're happy with your purchase that's all that matters. I can't see Frank being available at re-sale again so unfortunately eBay is the only way I could see you getting him
