Thanks for bringing back this thread, sodabear... now that it's been 6 months since we've seen the Cars2 toys (Family Dollar stores put singles out before the May 16 release date), there have been a few new releases and some of us may have changed our minds... I'd bought a few Cars2 items even before then - hard to believe that the first 3 I got were Finn McMissile, Jeff Gorvette, and Holley Shiftwell.

My favorites:

Cars2 singles so far are the Ransburg paint Cars, and the D23 Finn is my favorite of the 4 that have been released thus far... even though it was part of the D23 exclusive.

Cars2 Deluxe: Popemobile and the Double Decker Bus.

Cars2 Movie Moments: Brent Mustangburger/Darrell Cartrip - I love the Mustang.

Cars2 box set: None of the above - I have gotten very disillusioned with Mattel for releasing 4 to 10 packs with 1 or 2 or in the case of the racers, 0 new Cars... I'm done buying those.

Mattel distribution for Cars2 is just as screwed up as it was for Cars and Cars Toons... the only difference I see is that every store got way too many of the first 2 singles cases, first 2 Deluxe cases, first 2 launchers cases, first 2 movie moments cases, first 2 Lights and Sounds cases (anyone see a pattern here?)...

Here's hoping the exclusive Cars in the Blu-Ray/DVD sets are special.

I had to go searching for this old thread since I've changed my mind:

Todd has now surpassed RDMS as my favorite Cars 1 car. The more I look at it, the more awesome it gets. It also makes me a little bit sad knowing that we'll probably never see another release as cool as this one (or RDMS for that matter) for Cars 2. Or if they did, it'd be half the weight.
Favorite C2 released so far: ransburg D23 Finn. Now that's a beautiful car.
Favorite exclusive: Rollin' Bowlin' Mater

Single - Snot Rod, for some reason I really like this car

Deluxe - Frank, the hunt for him was good and I wasn't disappointed when I got him

Box set - I do like all of the team sets and the fan pack (if it was released at a better time!), but the SOTS is the clear winner here - only wish I had one!


From Cars2:

Single - so far it has to be Jeff Gorvette (I've only seen about 14 cars so far) - I really like the look of him

Deluxe - Double Decker Bus - I've got to remain faithful to the UK

Box set - I don't feel I can comment yet as I haven't really seen any. The TRU 10 pack will be my default answer, but only for the lack of anything available
