I've said for years... Cars sell in spite of Mattel, not because of Mattel... we can see that boxed sets with these assortments would sell:

El Materdor, Padre, and Chuy - while I have them all, I'd pay $25 to $30 for this 3 pack as they were all Deluxe.

A good Tokyo Mater 3 pack with Moderfied Mater... I'd even pay $40 for a decent Tokyo Mater 10 pack as many of those Cars were hard to find.

And there are many others that had they only made them and made them available we'd have bought... Team Crew sets... the rest of the Piston Cup Racer haulers... a Tach O Mint Pit Row Race-off launcher...

We can but dream Chris but it seems Mattel have their own agenda. It does surprise me that they dont use focus groups for potential issues or rereleases and consult at least one of the forums dedicated to collecting. I would guess that the majority of these folk would echo your sentiments right there.
