Nothing wrong with buying multiples - I buy every Doc Hudson and Lizzie I can find cause I know those are $20 pieces on ebay. RIP used to garner me $50 a pop but nowadays he's a breakeven car that I don't even take when I see on the shelves these days. The best way to pay for your collection that you keep is to sell other cars for profit to offset those costs. I have never believed in the "leave some on the shelves for the kids" theory - as it is based on the same thing my parents told me growing up when I didn't finish my dinner and they reminded me of all the starving kids in Africa that would love my meal. In the end, there are so many retail stores out there - so as a parent you need to go shopping like the rest of us collectors do. If you don't want to run all over the place there's always ebay and Amazon.

I do sell from time to time to support this expensive hobby, but will also not post what I won't share....
Chris' main point is that you do not know why someone is buying multiples, so give them the benefit of the doubt and don't criticize them.

Great point, Chris. People who are buying to sell on eBay for outrageous profit or just to keep others from getting them won't be posting it for everyone to see. I've thought for a minute or two and I can't think of one person on here who I don't know to be a generally kind person, and it's the generosity and helpfulness of the board that makes it thrive, not the competition of who can buy the most or who can best justify their purchases to the crowd.
