I couldn't believe thee boogity went to a super store and found "diddley squat".. So I contacted them to see what the crack with that was, gave them the magic number to identify what it was i was after and boom....
179 was the amount they had, 3 more than the Northcot store which couldnt find them but they are there....

1st up I got lost, hadn't a clue were i was my eyes were piercing every inch till i found the goods. well disappointment was an understatement, many silver racers and 2 full cases of F... So I done the math and a scan of the top self to find the remaining outstanding....This is what I saw

Yeah I know case P, The one with RIP in it... Well not a sausage, all old porta corsa cards. I didnt even waste a pic on the contents.... nough said.
Well I didnt stop there, determined to score some treasure I collard a manager and gave him the ones & twos about this whole malarky. I told him about the math situation and that we are still outstanding some stock and were the best place he could locate this for me. So he did as requested, a moment later he came out and said you better come with me....You seem to know more than me but I think I found your treasure....

                This is what he found.

I told him, you'd be best of sending thAT LOT BACK!!!! I thanked him for his assisting me in such a way, and made my way out to find the wife. So a disappointing effort on the cars front but I did end up scoring some other treasure

Hulk sets £24.99 & the LOTR set £14.99

                • Quality rusty, not so on the old cars but the fact you managed to get in the back of a store, being a retail manager myself that's a big thing being able to get back there thumbs up my friend

                  • The case you have in the photo was the W1938-996P case, which dates from January 2012. I think it was the first case with 29 - Radiator Springs Ramone in it? (See table below, if the formatting survives)!!

The Cars 2013 case is W1938-997P. I guess that when the 997 series are exhausted, they'll continue with 998? US is using 999 and Canada is using 95x series, I think?

From Cars 2 the case numbers ran W1938-996A through to 996Y with a couple of gaps.

                    W1938-996A Mar 2011 Nos. 1-6; 10-15

                    • As the table sort of copied OK (not proper width; I had to narrow the text), I'll also add that some of the early cases (like the one in your picture) were reassorted by Mattel UK and over-stickered with W1938-85xx numbers.

Smyths got their hands seriously burned with these, so it's no wonder they didn't order for nearly a year!

                      1). Were there cases in the 997 series before 997H, i.e. 997A to 997G?

It should've said (EU) before Kabuto as the case was released in Europe only.

2). The bottom case was actually 998H not 997H. Were there also early cases in the 998 series, i.e. 998A to 998F?

                      Confusing! Too right!

In the US they had V2796-999A to 999M, then 994Y (reassortment). This was followed by 998A through to 999Y with a few gaps. Now Cars 2013 is 998A to 998L.

Good one roger, did your store get any deliveries @ the wknd? or find any of the 176 MIA. And don't worry about my form with respects of how I roll...this is the way I've always done it. Most of my contacts now have my mobile, and they ring never any good news though as everyone seems to have these case D's
