Recent Finds: December 2012 Store Purchases

You didn't miss much with the Charge Ups track set... It takes about 30 seconds to charge the Car... you get 30 seconds of racing action before the Car needs to be recharged (pit stop!)... so I bought a second charger so we could race...

The first day we were racing, either McQueen or Francesco spun around and headed the wrong way... head on collision... Francesco hasn't worked since... and guess which Car was exclusive to the set? Yep - Francesco.

I got a second set on clearance for $17.98 a month ago and haven't used it... I intend to set up the opened track to stage pictures one of these days... rubber tire racers will hold the track position - plastic tire racers gravitate towards the inside.

In my opinion, it wasn't worth the $50 or $60 original retail price... the individual Cars are not worth the $11.99 price... but as you might have guessed, I've bought all the ones that have been released... We haven't seen Carla, Rip, or Miguel but if they're released, I'll probably buy them.

Boogity - Miles and Tokyo Party staff, that's a pretty impressive find!

After reading your post, I popped into my local TK Maxx. I asked them if they had any Movie Moments. They had and sold them! They had Miles/Tokyo Party and 'one with two yellow cars', sounds like Miguel and Petro Cartalina! That's an own goal. I feel like a right idiot, as I have to go past there just about every day! Just to think that those very sought after MMs have been in stock within a few feet of me! Arrrrgggghhhh!

I was really looking forward to December. Maybe I was naive or just stupid, but there was the prospect of 19, yes 19 new cars singles. There was supposed to be the seven TRU Radiator Springs Classics, the five other silver racers, four remaining Cars 2 singles, Mater and Finn McMissile on a straight cards and Rip Clutchgoneski! Although I've already got one, there was Cartney Brakin' too, so in theory, 20 new cars (in store).

Here we are five days before Christmas and 11 days before new year! Total purchases for December = One! I just have Race Team Mater on a straight card for my efforts!

OK, I did get a couple of Prince Wheeliam's and Bindo's for friends, but they weren't new for me. December, a month promising so much, has been a near total wash out, in more ways than one!

NN, I find it hard to believe that anyone in txmax would know what miles/tokyo party was, never mind movie moments!
If its not chucking it down I will cycle into town in the morning and check the big tk, too much hassel taking the car in at the moment
incidentely, cant rem which part of london youre at, are you anywhere near the txmax in ealing broadway, been in there a few times, never got ought mind (one of me bruvs lives there)

thought this bloke might have been on site by now, very disappointing

finds arnt just about cars merchandise
whilst looking in asda direct met a guy going thru the range, to cut a long story short this bloke is a cars addict big, big style, could even be in the chris mould, high praise indeed, I gave him the site details so hopefully he will come on board,

also got me a finish line frenzy in home bargains, everything else had sold out, but did spot a holley with wings

I really like this Movie Moments style... too bad we only saw one case of them in the US...

I found another Queen tonight, makes 5 out of 6 that my Walmart has received. And good I found it as I just traded one for a Tach o mint.

great score on the miles set, i over paid for mine around a month or so ago now, but thats the chance you take i guess, also have another miguel set inboundfor a member on the site.

going to have to check my local tk now as you never know what you might find

Went to a few stores in town today... didn't expect to find much and I wasn't disappointed...

Saw and left these at TJ Maxx:


I saw the Kingpin Nobunaga 3 pack at Kohl's last December for $22.99 and left it... I'd never seen the Hydrofoil Finn 3 pack... but at $12.99 I left them all.

The local Walmart had 2 full A cases of the 2013 Movie Moments and another 2013 Singles case A... left them all... I went onto the Lawn and Garden patio section (it's covered) looking for any new Cars not on the pegs... and I found a case... of launchers with McQueen, Max, and Nigel from May 2011... Sigh...

I stopped at Meijer for dog food, biscuits, and chews... saw a new case of Lights and Sounds with 5 Finn, 5 McQueen, and 2 Mater... as they were 89 cents each plus tax I bought a set... I might do a Respect the Classics article on Lights and Sounds during the next 2 weeks and can use them in pictures.

And when I got home... Holley had chewed up another pillow... stuffing everywhere on the dining room floor... I told her she was naughty and that Santa Pup would not be paying her a visit... and to quote an old country song by Daron Norwood from 20 years ago... "Bad Dog, No Biscuit".
